Hydross the Unstable is the first boss in Serpent Shrine Caverns, Zangar Marsh, Outlands. My quest to solo raid encounters brought me to SSC last week already to kill „The Lurker Below“. I hesitated a bit to try other bosses since they seem to have mechanics that make these fights somewhat tricky.
Hydross seemed the easiest, but it turned out I underestimated the fight a tiny bit 😀

Mount collectors and WotlK Players are still familiar with Skadi the Ruthless, the third Boss in Howling Fjord’s Utgarde Pinnacle. He has a low chance of dropping „Reins of the Blue Proto Drake“ and that make him an attractive solo target these days.
Phew Aa’ar … did not really expect this to be soloable. The fight has a few components that make it a bit tricky 😀 For one Al’ar is completely immune to fire … flame shock, searing totem, flame tongue weapon, lava lash … that is a big chunk of lost dps. But it is still doable as solo enhancement shaman. Here is how I did it!
It has been a good 4 years and 15 Levels since „The Lurker Below“ was a common 25 man raid Boss. He is located in Serpent Shrine Cavern, Zangar Marsh, Outlands.
On my quest to maximize „looted gold“ I was looking for a new challenge. While The Lurker Below is not a complete walkthrough it looked fairly doable.
With current health pools soloing Molten core for Gold/Recipes/Reputation/Legendaries is not a problem anymore. The biggest threat seems to be fall damage. Now that a heal no longer fills up all our health it makes Baron Geddon and Ragnaros more difficult than before 😀 While they aren’t really a challenge you can still minimize the incoming damage.
A couple of times players mention the fall damage in these encounters but there is an easy way to avoid it all. I have some screenshots with positioning.

Last week I posted about soloable Bosses for Enhancement Shamans and I spend the last week Frapsing a bit and making a nice Intro for the Videos. Not quite 100% happy with that, yet – but it is getting there.

Now that everyone had a good start into the cataclysm, reputations have been farmed, some gear has been acquired and people look at other ways to spend their time I found it interesting to check which Level 70 raid bosses can be solo’d for fame and fortune.
Happy Birthday Achievement System! It has been introduced exactly 2 years ago with the Pre-Wrath of the Lich King Patch. Aside new talents the new Achievements were highly anticipated. Countless achievements, have popped up since then.
A rather interesting feature is the statistics tab under achievements. It is a fine summary on your character’s stats and makes it very easy to track your gold flow.
People know that I made a lot of gold andare curious about the amount of gold I currently have. It is not as easy to say and thus I sum up the grand total once in a while.

A nice change for hunters is coming up on beta (if you still have the item) is that the Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina got converted into a 24 Slot Bag!
Apparenty other Ammo Pouches have been converted aswell, but I am kind of surprised to see that they upgraded the Level 60 Quiver to a 24 Slot Bag. Considering Haris Pilton sells the Portable Hole, also a 24 Slot Bag, at 3000 Gold this is indeed a nice change.
