Borked has stopped raiding late 4.2 and at first I’d like to thank Group Therapy on EU-Ravencrest for letting me raid with them! The past weeks, especially after the heroic Madness of Deathwing with an Enhancement Shaman topping DPS I got quite a few whispers asking me how Enhancement AoE exactly works. Having this covered in a previous post I thought it would be nice to demonstrate how the AOE looks from an Enhancement Shaman point of view.
Yors’sahj the Unsleeping in 25 man heroic Version seems like a perfect encounter.

Sartharion seems like a doable fight, so I went to the Obsidian Sanctum and tried my luck. The thrash was not easy to clear, but I was able to clear it all inclusive Tenebron and Vesperon. Sadly the third Miniboss Shadron forces you to go into the Twilight Realm and if you try that solo he will despawn instantly. I had to bring a friend, Zlínka, to kill the guardian inside the Twilight Realm.
On of the best models and fun raid encounters in World of warcraft was Teron Gorefiend in Black Temple. The fight mechanics with killing of players and turning them into ghosts still is a pretty unique gimmick. Many guilds used this fight to compete on DPS during the burning crusade when wwscoreboard was still live.
I happened to do dailies at the Argent Tournament, when Wintergrasp Battle was about to start. I figured, I could just join up for the free honor and looked into Vault of Archavon to pass the time. Previously I wondered how hard the trash would be here now or if I could even take down a Boss. The Trash looked surprisingly doable and I thought, even with the upcoming battle, it would not hurt to at least see how hard the encounter would be like. Before thinking about it, I rushed in.
Hydross the Unstable is the first boss in Serpent Shrine Caverns, Zangar Marsh, Outlands. My quest to solo raid encounters brought me to SSC last week already to kill „The Lurker Below“. I hesitated a bit to try other bosses since they seem to have mechanics that make these fights somewhat tricky.
Mount collectors and WotlK Players are still familiar with Skadi the Ruthless, the third Boss in Howling Fjord’s Utgarde Pinnacle. He has a low chance of dropping „Reins of the Blue Proto Drake“ and that make him an attractive solo target these days.
Phew Aa’ar … did not really expect this to be soloable. The fight has a few components that make it a bit tricky 😀 For one Al’ar is completely immune to fire … flame shock, searing totem, flame tongue weapon, lava lash … that is a big chunk of lost dps. But it is still doable as solo enhancement shaman. Here is how I did it!
It has been a good 4 years and 15 Levels since „The Lurker Below“ was a common 25 man raid Boss. He is located in Serpent Shrine Cavern, Zangar Marsh, Outlands.
While we defeated the heroic version of Conclave of Wind, the first encounter in Throne of the Four Winds, a few resets ago I did not have a video of the kill. This reset I made up for that and got something nice for you to watch.
A steep learning curve that felt like a 10 km mountain on our heads, mostly caused by what felt like 1000 disconnects and 20-23 player progression we finally got the fabulous 25 for some decent tries together. Fortunately I happened to fraps the show for you!
