Mass Effect 3 Hacks & Cheats

Haven’t even started to play properly but ended up more interested tweaking Mass Effect 3 more than actually playing it. As usually I started using Cheat Engine to tweak Credits and Power Points, but that ended up being somewhat unreliable, a few issues came up. Mass Effect 3 brings a more convenient way to tweak stuff, the Coalesced.bin, formerly known as Coalescd.ini in Mass Effect 2.

Why not use a cheat?

At first I noticed that if you spend more Talent Points than you can have at your current level, you will end up having them reset each time you load/zone. Also adding „no operation“ to money or skills sometimes caused issues with the client. I was stuck talking to Dr. Michel and could not exist the dialog or reload weapons. Hence I remembered the Coalescd.ini from the previous game and thought to tweak it enough to be able to rush through the game with more focus on exploring the zones and dialog options more than spending hours farming to be able to buy upgrades or kill hordes of silly NPC’s.

How to open the file

The Coalesced.bin for Mass Effect 3 is no longer a text file and you need tools to open them. So far I found 2 ways to do that the original Mass Effect 3 Coalesced.bin Tool by Rick or the newer more convenient GUI based ME3 Coalesced Utility by Monochrome Wench.

Note:

  • copy the Coalesced.bin to the folder “~Mass Effect 3BIOGameCookedPCConsole” (backup the original)
  • some commands require „action mode“, like running a mission
  • you may need to use the „num lock“-key to activate the numpad properly

This is work in progress, I am looking into some commands from ME 2 and see if they work in ME 3. Leave a comment below if you want to contribute some.

  • 200 Talent Points at Level 1! 100 for Henchmen
  • NumPadZero – God Mode
  • NumPadOne – Gives Super Weapon and Armor
  • NumPadTwo – No Power Cooldown
  • NumPadFour – Disable Collision
  • NumPadFive – Enable Collision
  • NumPadSix – +15 Talent Points
  • NumPadSeven – Boost to Level 60
  • NumPadNine – Set credits to 7 500 000
  • NumPad + – Set Paragon to 2000
  • NumPad – – Set Renegade to 2000
  • NumPad * – Get all Weapons
  • R „Reload Key“ – Max Ammo and Grenades
  • Increase detection range for system scan

  • Increase carrying capacity (encumbrance) by x4

  1. Umm..Admin, „NumPadOne – Gives Super Weapon and Armor“ is not working for me…can you look into it…umm maybe my ME3 Problems…all your cheats seem working for me except Super weapon & Armor

      Super Weapon does not give your weapon a new look, it uses the current one and increases its capacity to 10000 bullets and damage to 25000 … It is a ME 2 Code, the Super Armor is tunes for that I suppose 😀
      The best weapon for that cheat is a high accuracy SMG with scope I suppose. Many shots in short time, high accuracy, you can even aim for the occasional sniping 😀

      It works just fine, you can scan the full system usign only 1 scan from even only a side. The GFX is „short“ but the scan covers the whole system. Make sure you write the file into the correct spot, overwriting the exisitng one (better have a backup for it!) and the num lock is set properly. Some stuff works only during a mission, while others work global.

  2. Just a feedback about your codes written in your site: the quotation marks actually are umlauts, so the if someone would like to copy and paste it from the website, the game wont recognize those binding commands. I suggest you replace it for quotation marks.

  3. i am trying to use it but when i press numpad 9 it doesn’t give me the credits can someone help
    i am using a laptop that has a full keyboard so i have the numpad on the side

      The keybinds are seperated by windows. For exmaple mapview, mission, ship, etc … the keybinds here are for the „action view“ if you go to a mission they will all work.

      I am not using Skype. Did you try using the „num lock“ key? This modified file gives console commands to some of your keys, there are no confirmation messages btw.

  5. I’ve found out a way to have Infinite Ammo

    Just search for ‚ammopershot‘ in ‚bioweapon.ini‘ (in ‚coalesced.bin‘ file) and set it to 0

    This works for every weapon I’ve found out except the Particle Assault Rifle

  6. Myrddin how did you always enable the god mode, because the one i did is that in every after cutscenes you must re enable them. please help thanks

          An „external“ cheat tool might do the trick. But I prefer to use built in game mechanics like this one, make it less likely to catch some unwanted trojan, virus, etc.

      Did you use my Coalesced.bin? If not you need to make sure to edit the talent rewards since the game will check if the number of talents you learnt is valid. See above:

      biogame.ini: sfxgame,sfxgameconfiglevelrewards

      Instead of editing all talents for a few points each, I prefer to keep it simple by editing the first for massive points 😀

    noticed problems though, in finishing quests requiring items that can be bought from the shops like the e-gel thermal conduit, cerberus codes etc.. the game doesn’t recognize the quest items even after buying them, I think it’s because of the coalesced.bin making the quest items always available on the shops.. tried switching to the original coalesced, bought them and it worked…

      Yeah, its true. It is probably never totally bug free to mess with game variables in that amplitude 😀 As you correctly mentioned loading the original one, in case you are stuck works fine. Thanks for the Feedback!

    the survivor x and the ‚I‘ weapon.
    me2 is a bit disappointing cause they dont have that…
    this is reallly great!

      It should work with the origin-version of the game. Copy the old coalesced.ini so you have a backup, use the „ME3 Coalesced Utility“ linked in the post above edit the values and it should work for you. Enjoy the game!

  9. i would ask you how to unlock all the armor and oufit and why you didn’t put them seperately like the bind codes and the others … but i assume it would be a little complicated for most newbie like myself
    just a little question though … is there any other way to obtains all of the armor part ? … all of them … without using your file but using my own edit one ?

      just use the last part of the keybinds and enter them via the tools that have been mentioned above.

      1. but that just give me all the weapon , not the armor part … i tried using your file and save but after i used my own the armor part disappear
        and somehow your file duplicate all the armor … not sure how that works 😀

Deeply thanks to you for sharing this awesome mod and that great tool for the modded file , i want to use is to increase the stats of all the weapons , do you know the section of that file were can i find all the stats of the weapons ? i am especially focused on increase the firing rate and the accurancy 😀
