We are about to start a longer hike today, hence the early post. Not quite sure where we will head to, maybe to Gonsenheim, maybe to the Rhine… maybe towards Bingen, I’ll let Ninja decide.
He has been very attentive and amenable the past days and I would really like to reward this behavior, because I do think Ninja appreciates rewards like „running off leash“, „more freedom“ and he does like it more than just rewarding him with food.
It will have a long lasting effect and not slow us down… If I simply rewarded him a chicken leg, because he obediently followed a command I would just bring him out of what he is doing. If I reward him with „freedom“, „attention“, „affirmation“ it is so much more useful. I can reward him with something nice to eat when we are home…
I think I made up my mind while writing this… I’ll go to the Gemarkung, a huge beautiful orchard with 10000s trees, make a break at the store over there before heading on towards Gonsenheim… They have a huge area called „Mainzer Sand“ with lots of sand and low vegetation… It will result in a different kind of pictures if the sun will allow 😀
Then I will see in what mood Ninja is and possibly continue towards the Rhine at Mombach… I shot one of my very favorite shots there… before slowly heading home, along the riverside… It is going to be a long hike, but a very fun one. Hope Nuinja will agree.
