When your fur is moist and the sun makes You look as You were burning.
.
A few weeks ago I showed you a picture of a smoking traffic sign. Here it is the same principle.
Moist fur meets warm sun rays. You can see that it is actually foggy in the forest so the damp vapor can not be absorbed by the air right away and this beautiful ’smoke‘ appears… Smoke consists of solid particles and vapor of liquid particles.
.
No matter, Ninja seems to enjoy the warmth. It is one of my favorites because of the calmness/peace it gives me… and of course because of the vapor.
.
I had Ninja standing in this day of light to get the picture and while he was waiting and I was still setting up my camera and such he suddenly started to evaporate 😄

When seasoned dogs try to impress the cute young ones they may need a nap to catch their breath 😄
So for a break we went for a small walk to Bad Säckingen as I always wanted to walk over the wooden bridge that connects Germany and Switzerland, but did not manage to do so, yet.
The border is in the middle of the river Rhein, so you walk from one country to the other. There is no pass control, no toll booths or the like… The only sign you see is the German Eagle on Orange at the right – blurred of course.
It looked really nice at night and I thought it would be really cool to take pictures there.
People instantly stopped to watch us take a picture and asked the usual.questions 😄
They surely were impressed that Ninja is so easy to control and his posing.
Of course we asked if people were bothered and the whole thing did not take longer than 2 minutes.

The past few days Marion and Romain visited us with their beautiful pack of Huskies.
While Ninja is a more settled and calm representative of his breed, the pack was a lot younger and agile.
Ninja got to especially love the time with Nawa and decided to show off his power and strength to show off Nawa.
It was really heartwarming to observe that and to see him play, having a great time 😊
.
At first I wanted to visit @nootka_sounds in Normandy but sadly it did not work out, so I was really happy that they decided to make the long trip across France and visit us instead. Marion and Romain are really nice and I hope they had a great time here as well.
.
I also loved that my sister came to visit us from Munich to help translate and because she was curious as well 😊
.
I hope You like the pictures, I love the dynamics between these two 😊

Ninja showing off his moves 😄
.
Earlier I described Ninja as not very playful, but when he does so, he makes the greatest moves.
Once we were at a little pond in the forest and about 5-7 people with dogs suddenly showed up. They are usually somewhat scared of Ninja and I was explaining how nice Ninja is. So we unleashed the dogs and let them run… Of Course Ninja behaved like a mad dog, jumping around, being the typical non trained hyper husky. But at one moment the dogs were chasing after him and he was escaping into the bushes, just to return a few seconds after with a huge leap into the middle of the people who were all surprised and scattered apart like a herd of scared sheep 😳🤦🏻‍♂️
.
Just a little anecdote to the ones that seem to believe it’s flawless with Ninja 😄 I am certain You know moments like these Yourself… Care to share⁉️😊
.
In any case wish You a happy weekend 😊

I wish I could go out and enjoy the beautiful weather. I just still do not dare, yet.
Fortunately I am feeling better and am slowly able to eat again. Other than than I spend time catching up missed sleep and (re)-editing pictures.
.
Editing pictures like this I realize how beautiful Ninja really is. I know the picture does not have an artsy value, but look at his proud posture, his sovereign facial expression.
I recall this day 3 years ago exactly… I was hiking with Hana along the flood plains of the river side. There is this wild untouched landscape and due to low water we were able to walk to a little island.
We took a video (which is what I actually wanted to post today, but was unable to find ) where I directed Ninja about 200m along the dam to the other side of the bay and recall him. I was so happy about that and this is probably why Ninja looks so ‚tall‘ here… He knows he did good and is full of self confidence. In the picture that I will post after I am done here as a story you will see what I mean 😊
.
Then Ninja and Smilla played catch on the plains…
.
This is what I recall, looking at this picture. It is all the stuff behind the scenes. Of course I do not expect anyone else to see it, but I used to be really puzzled why pictures like this were not popular…
.
I think I will edit some more if that day and post it as a story.

Ruf der Wildnis // Call of the Wild Ninja Style

Ruf der Wildnis // Call of the Wild Ninja Style

Ab 20. Februar 2020 nur im Kino

„Ruf der Wildnis“ von @20thcenturystudiosde

in den Deutschen Kinos. Schaut ihn Euch an 😊

As I have described last week, Ninja and me were invited to a survival camp in the far North of Germany.

The trip was sponsored by @20thcenturystudiosde
and the training was conducted by @taffetoelen and the „Outdoor / Survival – Schule Malente“

Thank You for taking good care of us and teaching us the ways of nature.

I am so proud of Ninja as he had a few really tough days. We spent 17 hours travel time as well as having to face challenges that Night ja had not done before.
It was the first time Ninja had been on a boat and the first time he was carried on a stretcher. In the end he placed his trust in me and we got the pictures we needed.

When we were filming the hunting and trap section Ninja found some wild boar 🐗 and I was able to recall him when he was already dashing away. I am so proud of him. A less trained dog could have gotten hurt and angered the animals.

Also Ninja is not fond of water and I was so proud that he stuck his nose into the water to fetch the trout.

I think I may have smeared fish over Ninja when cuddling him, over the camera, my jacket and clothes which is probably the reason I was sick all weekend with an upset tummy. While not feeling good, I definitely feel better now and consulted a doctor to help improve further.

All in all it was an amazing experience and possibly one day I will be able to return to Malente for more lessons.

Until then I will watch Harrison Ford’s adventures with Buck in „Call of the Wild“ which starts this Thursday 20.02.2020 in Germany 😊
