I took these pictures 5 years ago on my Casio „Point and Click“-camera.
.
Even after all these years they are some of my favorites and resemble the start of my photography. I noticed that Ninja can look a lot more intense if he focuses on something and how the sunset sun brightened his eyes.
.
I did not understand these things well back then and also held the camera above the eye-line, which I try to avoid now…
So here it is… I thought the #throwbackthursday might be a great way to show off my older favorite shots.

  2. Wow so you’re getting down low to shoot almost every time? That’s a great tip! I try to stay lower, but didn’t specify it to eye level

  3. @upnorthpets I personally do not like it below or above eye level… just at the same height… except when he is goofing around… it always depends on the background, too… are there trees in the way or is there an odd way Ninja looks against the horizon line and slightly adjust from there… I try to keep the rule of thirds in mind

  4. @upnorthpets In general though I never shoot from above to below as it is what we humans „always“ see.. so shots that break this rule are 100% more interesting

  5. So nice to reflect on our photography, isn’t? Also, technique doesn’t necessarily define great shot. Ninja is looking great ☺️
